Missions

International Mission Board (IMB)

Southern Baptist have always had a driving desire to see the nations come to know the Christ who loves them and gave Himself for them.  Due to that desire, the IMB has maintained a steady presence throughout the world to reach the lost with the saving gospel.  Thousands of previously unreached people are saved, churches are planted, pastors are trained, and lives are changed for the glory of God and the work of Southern Baptist through the IMB.  Our church has committed to giving a percentage of all tithes to our general fund to reaching the nations through the IMB along with a special offering (Lottie Moon Christmas Offering) that we collect throughout the month of December.

North American Mission Board (NAMB)

Not only do Southern Baptist have a vision for the nations, we also understand the great responsibility we have to reach our nation with the gospel.  For this purpose, we have made a continual investment in the advancement of the gospel through the NAMB in order that the U.S. and Canada may have an adequate witness of the glorious Christ.  Our church has committed to giving a percentage of all tithes to our general fund to reaching North America through NAMB along with a special offering (Annie Armstrong Easter Offering) that we collect throughout the month of March.

Cooperative Program     (SBC CP)

Southern Baptist Churches around the world have committed to give through the Cooperative Program (CP) to finance many Kingdom centered ministries around the world.  Whether it is the training of tomorrow’s ministers in one of our seminaries or the advancement of the gospel through the IMB or NAMB, CP money has a far reaching impact in the lives of countless individuals around the world.  Also, the money that we give through the Alabama State Board Of Missions supports countless ministries that give care to orphans, disaster relief efforts, discipleship, evangelism, and church planting efforts.  Our church has committed to giving a percentage of all tithes to our general fund to accomplish a great deal of ministries around the world through our gifts to the CP.

4G Ministries

Stanley Kilgore, a long-time pastor and member of Ryans Creek is the president of a world-wide effort to train nationals, make disciples, carry out V.B.S. events in distant villages across the jungles of Belize, as well as planting churches in areas of the Philippines with the new pastors that he trained as their Theology professor at GSEF College.  4G Ministries derives its name from 2 Timothy 2:2, “and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.”  The 4G stands for 4 Generations, according to this verse (Paul, Timothy, faithful men, others also).  This is the summation of the vision of 4G Ministries, training nations who will train others also.  While you may chose to support 4G Ministries throughout the year by designating a portion of your offering to 4G Ministries, our church designates the month of April for the purpose of giving to 4G.

First Source Women’s Center

We have partnered with First Source Women’s Center for several years now.  Their pursuit of life and the care and concern they have for women have become a very important part of the heart of our church.  Through the Baby Bottle Boomerang program, our church has helped the First Source Women’s Center to purchase a mobile health clinic that gets needful services to women in need.  It is a proven fact, that a visible ultrasound of a mother’s baby helps mom to see the child rather than their particular situation.  Through your continued support of First Source Women’s Center, our prayer is that lives will be rescued and moms and dads will be changed for the glory of our heavenly Father.  Our church has committed the month of May as our designated month to give all mission money to this effort.

Gideons International

Ryans Creek has been a long-term partner with Gideons International.  Each year, our church commits to distributing hundreds of Bibles through our designated giving as well as the Bibles that are sent on behalf of those experiencing grief in times of suffering.  Isaiah 55:11 says, “so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.”  Through your continued commitment to Gideons International, only eternity may tell of those who came to faith in Christ or came through a crisis because of a Bible they discovered in a hotel room or one they received in 5th grade.  If you would like to continue supporting this worthy ministry, our church has committed the month of August as our Gideon month.  All money that you give to our designated Missions fund through August will be forwarded on to the distribution of God’s Word.

Mississippi Valley Backpack Program

Through the leadership of our very own Women Missionary Union (WMU), we have partnered with churches all across our state in order to provide Christmas in a backpack for children who find themselves in great need.  We have many within our church that personally pack their own backpacks while others may give money to help purchase the supplies.  Join with us through the month of October to pack as many backpacks as possible to help ensure that a child is blessed this Christmas with some much needed supplies.  You may also designate money to the Mission fund throughout October for the purpose of partnering with this great ministry.

Operation Christmas Shoebox

We are blessed to be a blessing!  This is certainly the case concerning our partnership with Samaritan’s Purse and their Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Ministry.  The joy of offering a package of love along with a clear presentation of the gospel which introduces multiplied millions to the One who extended His love toward us while we were still sinners, is the sweetest gift we could offer.  If you would like to partner with Samaritan’s Purse in their continued global ministry, make sure to give to our designated Missions fund throughout the month of November.  These funds will be forwarded via packaged shoeboxes to a distant village and received by a genuine smile of appreciation.

The Timothy Initiative (TTI)

The Timothy Initiative (TTI) has become a leading church planting ministry around the globe.  Through their efforts, the gospel is being advanced throughout the entire world, churches are being planted, pastors are being trained, and accountability is a top priority.  TTI has helped to correctly identify the real definition of the church by pointing out that their church planting efforts do not include paying salaries or building buildings.  Their church plants could be on a riverbank or under a tree.  It could be in someone’s living room or in a break room at lunch.  Regardless of the place they have chosen to meet, they are a group of born again believers who have joined together with a visible local assembly to pray, read the Word, participate in ministry, share the gospel, take the Lord’s Supper, and baptize new believers.  Their efforts and God’s amazing grace has seen 100’s of thousands of unreached people come to know Christ as their Lord and Savior.
